If You’re Tired of Pretending You’re Okay, This Is For You...
If you grew up learning to smile through pain… or you're often told you're "too sensitive" when you express your true feelings or your needs, this is for you.
I want to tell you this today. You weren’t too sensitive. You were just unheard. And maybe… you’re still carrying that silence today. It wasn’t your job to be strong all the time. But no one told you that. Pretending you’re okay has kept you alive. But it’s not the same as living...
So, why do we hide who we are and pretend to be alright? When did it all start?
Somewhere along the way, maybe as a kid, you learned that showing your pain wasn’t safe.
Maybe you were told to “stop crying.”
Or made to feel like your emotions were too much.
Or maybe no one even noticed when you were hurting.
So, you learned to pretend.
You learned to stay small, stay quiet, stay agreeable.
To hide your sadness, shrink your dreams, and numb the ache, just to feel okay in a world that didn't feel safe.
And now?
You’re still saying “I’m fine”, not because you really are. But out of habit.
Even when your soul is screaming for more.
But here’s the thing:
You’re not broken, or "being fake"...
You’re just protecting the part of you that never felt seen or heard.
That innocent part of you, your inner child, is still in there, carrying those old beliefs:

“I have to earn love.”
“My needs don’t matter.”

“It’s safer to stay invisible.”
But here’s what I want you to know:
- You’re allowed to take up space.
- You’re allowed to feel your emotions.
- You’re allowed to rewrite your story.
Because healing doesn’t mean “fixing” yourself, it means coming home to the version of you that never got the love, safety, or validation they needed. It also means you can finally give permission to yourself to feel the raw emotions that you've suppressed all these years.
